Sister Elizabeth C. Reilly, S.C. who taught at many schools in the archdiocese, died July 30, 2010 at Mary the Queen Convent in Yonkers. She was 86. She taught at SS. Peter and Paul School in the Bronx, 1944-1950; St. Mary’s, Wappingers Falls, 1961-1962; St. Joseph’s, Yonkers, 1962-1967; Epiphany, 1967-1970, Our Lady of Good Counsel, 1970-1974, and St. Ignatius Loyola, 1974-1975, all Manhattan; and St. Peter’s Elementary, 1975-1976, and St. Peter’s High School for Girls, 1976-1996, both Staten Island. She also taught at schools in Brooklyn and Southampton.
Born in Port Jervis, NY Sister Elizabeth, who was formerly known as Sister Marita Elizabeth, entered the Sisters of Charity in 1942 and professed final vows in 1948. She held a bachelor’s degree in history from the College of Mount St. Vincent and a master’s in social studies from Richmond College. 
A brother, Thomas, survives her. A Funeral Mass was offered Aug. 5 at Mary the Queen Convent. Burial followed at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Yonkers.
